In October 2019 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy In Running Script by Li Hongzhang. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 325,000.00 (€ 37,147.02), 48% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Hongzhang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy, which sold at auction in April 2013 for HKD 1,035,000.00 (€ 101,314.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 48 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script von Li Hongzhang zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 37.147,02) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Hongzhang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy beobachtet, die im April 2013 für HKD 1.035.000,00 (€ 101.314,93) versteigert wurde.
