It achieved a price of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 29,206.67), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Hongzhang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy, which sold at auction in April 2013 for HKD 1,035,000.00 (€ 101,314.93).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script von Li Hongzhang kam im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 29.206,67) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Hongzhang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy beobachtet, die im April 2013 für HKD 1.035.000,00 (€ 101.314,93) versteigert wurde.
