This artwork by Li Hongzhang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2015. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script sold for USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,637.16) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Li Hongzhang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 1,035,000.00 (€ 101,314.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Li Hongzhang erzielte im September 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script für USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.637,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Li Hongzhang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.035.000,00 (€ 101.314,93).
