This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Australian Art at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy De Maistre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian New Atlantis in November 2009 with an auction result of AUD 222,000.00 (€ 135,370.55).
