Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Portrait of Oswald Falk, c.1958 by Roy De Maistre. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 6,150.00 (€ 5,448.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy De Maistre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian New Atlantis in November 2009 with an auction result of AUD 222,000.00 (€ 135,370.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Oswald Falk, c.1958 von Roy De Maistre zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 6.150,00 (€ 5.448,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy De Maistre erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian New Atlantis im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 222.000,00 (€ 135.370,55).
