The work The Messenger, from The Dybbuk Series by Leonora Carrington was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in January last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,501.78), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonora Carrington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden of Paracelsus in May last year with an auction result of USD 3,256,500.00 (€ 3,034,665.92).

Die Arbeit The Messenger, from The Dybbuk Series von Leonora Carrington wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.501,78) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leonora Carrington erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden of Paracelsus im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.256.500,00 (€ 3.034.665,92).
