Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bird Thou Never Wert (Blithe Spirit) by Leon Underwood was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,816.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Underwood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sungirl in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 91,250.00 (€ 100,951.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bird Thou Never Wert (Blithe Spirit) von Leon Underwood kam im November 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.816,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Underwood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sungirl im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 91.250,00 (€ 100.951,16).
