Auction result well in line with expectations
The work School Building, Willesden, Winter 1981 by Leon Kossoff was sold in the British Art Evening Sale: Modern/Contemporary auction at Sothebys in London in June 2021. The price achieved of GBP 486,900.00 (€ 567,365.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leon Kossoff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon, which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 1,388,750.00 (€ 1,566,467.81).

Die Arbeit School Building, Willesden, Winter 1981 von Leon Kossoff wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion British Art Evening Sale: Modern/Contemporary bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 486.900,00 (€ 567.365,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden.
