In October last year Christies in London held the auction Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale, which included the work Small Landscape with St Paul's No. 1 by Leon Kossoff. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 100,800.00 (€ 117,430.88), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Kossoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,388,750.00 (€ 1,566,467.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Small Landscape with St Paul's No. 1 von Leon Kossoff zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 100.800,00 (€ 117.430,88) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Kossoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.388.750,00 (€ 1.566.467,81).
