Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Salomé by Léon Herbo was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2004. The price achieved of GBP 17,925.00 (€ 25,785.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Léon Herbo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of an Art Connoisseur, possibly Ira Aldridge in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 119,027.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Salomé von Léon Herbo kam im November 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.925,00 (€ 25.785,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Léon Herbo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of an Art Connoisseur, possibly Ira Aldridge im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 119.027,01).
