Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work A Selfportrait Of The Artist, Standing Three Quarter Length, Wearing A 17Th Century Style Costume by Léon Herbo for EUR 2,500.00. This price was achieved in the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours at Sothebys in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon Herbo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of an Art Connoisseur, possibly Ira Aldridge in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 119,027.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Selfportrait Of The Artist, Standing Three Quarter Length, Wearing A 17Th Century Style Costume von Léon Herbo für EUR 2.500,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours bei Sothebys in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Léon Herbo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of an Art Connoisseur, possibly Ira Aldridge im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 119.027,01).
