Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Odalisque by Léon Herbo was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in London in November 2005. The price achieved of GBP 15,600.00 (€ 22,918.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Léon Herbo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of an Art Connoisseur, possibly Ira Aldridge in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 119,027.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An Odalisque von Léon Herbo wurde im November 2005 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.600,00 (€ 22.918,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Léon Herbo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of an Art Connoisseur, possibly Ira Aldridge im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 119.027,01).
