Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sky by Leo Villareal was sold in the Under the Influence auction at Phillips in New York in March 2012. The price achieved of USD 5,250.00 (€ 3,937.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leo Villareal achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cloud Drawing (Medium) 1 in November this year with an auction result of USD 75,600.00 (€ 69,306.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sky von Leo Villareal wurde im März 2012 in der Auktion Under the Influence bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 3.937,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leo Villareal erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cloud Drawing (Medium) 1 im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 69.306,93).
