Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Boundless Space… The Possibilities of Burning Man, which included the work The Man, 2021 by Leo Villareal. The price achieved of USD 35,280.00 (€ 30,540.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leo Villareal - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cloud Drawing (Medium) 1, which sold at auction in November this year for USD 75,600.00 (€ 69,306.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Boundless Space… The Possibilities of Burning Man durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Man, 2021 von Leo Villareal zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 35.280,00 (€ 30.540,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Leo Villareal mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cloud Drawing (Medium) 1 beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für USD 75.600,00 (€ 69.306,93) versteigert wurde.
