Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An evening at the 'Jan Steenzolder' by Leo Gestel was sold in the The former Kamerbeek Collection auction at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2017. The price achieved of EUR 10,625.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leo Gestel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gladiolen in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 505,250.00 (€ 638,652.94).

Die Arbeit An evening at the 'Jan Steenzolder' von Leo Gestel wurde im Juni 2017 in der Auktion The former Kamerbeek Collection bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 10.625,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leo Gestel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gladiolen im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 505.250,00 (€ 638.652,94).
