The work Nine White Egrets by Leng Mei was worth USD 550,000.00 (€ 489,410.93) to a buyer in September 2016. This price was achieved in the auction The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 48,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leng Mei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Young Hercules, which sold at auction in May 2010 for HKD 16,900,000.00 (€ 1,755,719.95).

Die Arbeit Nine White Egrets von Leng Mei war einem Käufer im September 2016 USD 550.000,00 (€ 489.410,93) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 48.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Leng Mei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Young Hercules beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für HKD 16.900.000,00 (€ 1.755.719,95) versteigert wurde.
