Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Figure Study Of A Bearded Man, Design For A Telamon by Lelio Orsi for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,855.89). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Drawings including French Masterworks from the Dormeuil Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lelio Orsi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Leda And The Swan in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 1,008,692.14).
