The work Apollo Driving the Chariot of the Sun by Lelio Orsi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year. It achieved a price of USD 390,600.00 (€ 348,376.74), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lelio Orsi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Leda And The Swan, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 1,008,692.14).

Die Arbeit Apollo Driving the Chariot of the Sun von Lelio Orsi kam im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 390.600,00 (€ 348.376,74) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Für andere Arbeiten von Lelio Orsi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Leda And The Swan beobachtet, die im Januar 2008 für USD 1.497.000,00 (€ 1.008.692,14) versteigert wurde.
