Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Quartz and Cinnamon by Leif Ritchey was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,568.80). Admittedly, works by Leif Ritchey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lady Bug in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 6,847.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Quartz and Cinnamon von Leif Ritchey im Oktober 2019 bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.568,80) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leif Ritchey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lady Bug im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 6.847,72).
