Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Newark, N.J. by Lee Friedlander. The price achieved of USD 20,320.00 (€ 19,227.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Friedlander achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Little Screens in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 850,000.00 (€ 761,512.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Newark, N.J. von Lee Friedlander zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 20.320,00 (€ 19.227,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Friedlander erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Little Screens im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 850.000,00 (€ 761.512,27).
