Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
This work without title by Lee Bontecou was sold in the The Artist’s Eye: The Collection of Tom Levine auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,653.27). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Bontecou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May this year with an auction result of USD 8,690,000.00 (€ 8,156,560.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Lee Bontecou wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion The Artist’s Eye: The Collection of Tom Levine bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 2.016,00 (€ 1.653,27) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Bontecou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.690.000,00 (€ 8.156.560,92).
