Artwork auctioned at eight times the upper estimate price
The work Young Tonkinese Girl by Le Thi Luu was worth HKD 437,500.00 (€ 51,334.82) to a buyer in May 2015. This price was achieved in the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Le Thi Luu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two children in garden in April last year with an auction result of HKD 6,300,000.00 (€ 761,715.86).

Die Arbeit Young Tonkinese Girl von Le Thi Luu war einem Käufer im Mai 2015 HKD 437.500,00 (€ 51.334,82) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Le Thi Luu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two children in garden im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.300.000,00 (€ 761.715,86).
