Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Woman And Children by Le Thi Luu was worth HKD 6,830,000.00 (€ 731,258.52) to a buyer in April 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Beyond Legends: Modern Art Evening Sale at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 1,600,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Le Thi Luu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Two children in garden sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of HKD 6,300,000.00 (€ 761,715.86).
