Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Le Thi Luu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale auction, the work Maternity sold for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 17,885.04) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Le Thi Luu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two children in garden in April last year with an auction result of HKD 6,300,000.00 (€ 761,715.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Le Thi Luu erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Maternity für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 17.885,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Le Thi Luu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two children in garden im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.300.000,00 (€ 761.715,86).
