A top price for Lawrence Preece - as previously expected
In June 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction 20th Century British & Irish Art, which included the work Pegwell Bay Today by Lawrence Preece. The price achieved of GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,493.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Pegwell Bay Today is the most expensive artwork by Lawrence Preece that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Juni 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pegwell Bay Today von Lawrence Preece zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.680,00 (€ 2.493,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Pegwell Bay Today das teuerste Kunstwerk von Lawrence Preece, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
