A top price for Laurie Simmons - as previously expected
In November 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Sale, which included the work Walking Chanel Purse by Laurie Simmons. The price achieved of USD 100,000.00 (€ 94,535.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Walking Chanel Purse is the most expensive artwork by Laurie Simmons that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im November 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Walking Chanel Purse von Laurie Simmons zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 94.535,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Walking Chanel Purse das teuerste Kunstwerk von Laurie Simmons, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
