Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Bright be thy Noon by Laura Theresa Alma-Tadema. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 126,137.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laura Theresa Alma-Tadema - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Looking Out O'Window, Sunshine, which sold at auction in December 2015 for GBP 221,000.00 (€ 300,107.38).
