Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Christies in New York held the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples, which included the work Composition, from Meistermappe des Staatlichen Bauhauses (Masters' Portfolio of the Staatliches Bauhaus) by László Moholy-Nagy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,100.00 (€ 39,945.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by László Moholy-Nagy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Em 1 Telephonbild (Em 1 Telephone Picture) in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 6,087,500.00 (€ 5,754,868.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition, from Meistermappe des Staatlichen Bauhauses (Masters' Portfolio of the Staatliches Bauhaus) von László Moholy-Nagy zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 39.945,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von László Moholy-Nagy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Em 1 Telephonbild (Em 1 Telephone Picture) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.087.500,00 (€ 5.754.868,60).
