This artwork by László Moholy-Nagy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April this year. In the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples auction, the work Circle and Planes sold for USD 42,840.00 (€ 38,804.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by László Moholy-Nagy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Em 1 Telephonbild (Em 1 Telephone Picture) in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 6,087,500.00 (€ 5,754,868.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von László Moholy-Nagy erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples wurde die Arbeit Circle and Planes für USD 42.840,00 (€ 38.804,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von László Moholy-Nagy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Em 1 Telephonbild (Em 1 Telephone Picture) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.087.500,00 (€ 5.754.868,60).
