In October 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art / Arab & Iranian, which included the work Sandouk El Dounia (The World In A Box) by Lara Baladi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,707.93), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lara Baladi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sandouk El-Dounia, which sold at auction in October 2008 for USD 98,500.00 (€ 77,669.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art / Arab & Iranian durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sandouk El Dounia (The World In A Box) von Lara Baladi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.707,93) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Lara Baladi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sandouk El-Dounia beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für USD 98.500,00 (€ 77.669,14) versteigert wurde.
