Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Landscape after Wu Zhen by Kun Can was worth HKD 2,646,000.00 (€ 294,330.85) to a buyer in October 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kun Can; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sleeping On The Rock sold at auction in October 2014 with the realized price of HKD 5,290,000.00 (€ 544,620.91).
