Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak, which included the work The Unexpected Happened by Krishen Khanna. The »bidding war« ended at USD 60,480.00 (€ 54,520.87), 21% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Krishen Khanna - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Anatomy Lesson, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 264,000.00 (€ 197,397.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Unexpected Happened von Krishen Khanna zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 60.480,00 (€ 54.520,87) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Krishen Khanna mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Anatomy Lesson beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 264.000,00 (€ 197.397,94) versteigert wurde.
