Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Brooding Figure by Krishen Khanna was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 44,459.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Krishen Khanna have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Anatomy Lesson in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 264,000.00 (€ 197,397.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Brooding Figure von Krishen Khanna kam im September 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 44.459,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Krishen Khanna auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Anatomy Lesson im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 264.000,00 (€ 197.397,94).
