This artwork by Krishen Khanna achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September last year. In the Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba auction, the work Bandwallas in a Forest sold for USD 107,100.00 (€ 109,475.62) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Krishen Khanna; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Anatomy Lesson sold at auction in March 2007 with the realized price of USD 264,000.00 (€ 197,397.94).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Krishen Khanna erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba wurde die Arbeit Bandwallas in a Forest für USD 107.100,00 (€ 109.475,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00.
