Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study For Sprinkling The Hops by Konstantin Makovsky was sold in the Russian Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in June 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,444.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Konstantin Makovsky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blind Man'S Bluff in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 4,287,400.00 (€ 4,836,056.95).
