In the JapaneseArt and Design Including Netsuke from the Estate of His Royal Highness The Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, KG.,KT.,KP auction, the work Unknown sold for GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,337.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kitao Shigemasa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La première, période Edo (1615-1868), fin du 18e et début 19e siècle ; la seconde, probablement ère Showa (1926-1989), début du 20e siècle, which sold at auction in October this year for EUR 11,520.00.
