This artwork by Kitao Shigemasa achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2006. In the JapaneseArt and Design Including Netsuke from the Estate of His Royal Highness The Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, KG.,KT.,KP auction, the work Unknown sold for GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,337.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kitao Shigemasa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La première, période Edo (1615-1868), fin du 18e et début 19e siècle ; la seconde, probablement ère Showa (1926-1989), début du 20e siècle, which sold at auction in October this year for EUR 11,520.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Kitao Shigemasa erzielte im Juli 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion JapaneseArt and Design Including Netsuke from the Estate of His Royal Highness The Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, KG.,KT.,KP wurde die Arbeit Unknown für GBP 2.280,00 (€ 3.337,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kitao Shigemasa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La première, période Edo (1615-1868), fin du 18e et début 19e siècle ; la seconde, probablement ère Showa (1926-1989), début du 20e siècle beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für EUR 11.520,00 versteigert wurde.
