The work Kaiko yashinai-gusa dai ku (Silk-making, no. 9) by Kitao Shigemasa was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2001. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,880.00 (€ 2,137.82), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kitao Shigemasa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La première, période Edo (1615-1868), fin du 18e et début 19e siècle ; la seconde, probablement ère Showa (1926-1989), début du 20e siècle in October this year with an auction result of EUR 11,520.00.

Die Arbeit Kaiko yashinai-gusa dai ku (Silk-making, no. 9) von Kitao Shigemasa wurde im März 2001 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.880,00 (€ 2.137,82) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kitao Shigemasa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La première, période Edo (1615-1868), fin du 18e et début 19e siècle ; la seconde, probablement ère Showa (1926-1989), début du 20e siècle im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 11.520,00.
