Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Immortal Crane And Vase by Kim Whan-Ki. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 1,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,240,000.00 (€ 127,661.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kim Whan-Ki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 05-IV-71 #200 (Universe) in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 101,955,000.00 (€ 11,824,892.46).
