Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work John F.Kennedy & Marilyn Monroe by Kim Dong-Yoo for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 44,451.62). This price was achieved in the auction Boundless: Contemporary Art at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 380,000.00 – 580,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kim Dong-Yoo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mao Vs. Monroe in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 345,300.00 (€ 451,638.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit John F.Kennedy & Marilyn Monroe von Kim Dong-Yoo für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 44.451,62) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Boundless: Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 380.000,00 – 580.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kim Dong-Yoo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mao Vs. Monroe im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 345.300,00 (€ 451.638,85).
