This artwork by Khoo Sui Hoe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2013. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Two by the River sold for HKD 93,750.00 (€ 8,888.54) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Khoo Sui Hoe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calling Coocoo Riverside sold at auction in May 2015 with the realized price of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,667.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Khoo Sui Hoe erzielte im November 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Two by the River für HKD 93.750,00 (€ 8.888,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Khoo Sui Hoe; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calling Coocoo Riverside im Mai 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.667,09).
