The work Figure and Bird I by Kevin Leslie Connor was sold in the AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in May 2001. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 9,400.00 (€ 5,634.44), 57% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kevin Leslie Connor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait (of the gardner in the little sparrow garden, Erskineville), which sold at auction in August 2003 for AUD 37,600.00 (€ 22,212.27).
