Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Controlopuss II by Kenny Scharf was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 279,400.00 (€ 256,142.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kenny Scharf - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work City of the Future, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 983,175.00 (€ 916,200.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Controlopuss II von Kenny Scharf kam im November diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 279.400,00 (€ 256.142,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Kenny Scharf mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit City of the Future beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 983.175,00 (€ 916.200,73) versteigert wurde.
