This artwork by Kenneth Rowntree achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2014. In the A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting auction, the work The Middle Of The Wood sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,377.02) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kenneth Rowntree - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grove House, Levisham Evening, which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,599.97).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Kenneth Rowntree erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting wurde die Arbeit The Middle Of The Wood für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.377,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Rowntree mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grove House, Levisham Evening beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.599,97) versteigert wurde.
