Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Dreadful Summer of 1984 by Kenneth Rowntree was sold in the Modern/British & Irish Art auction at Christies in London in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,550.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kenneth Rowntree have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grove House, Levisham Evening in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,599.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Dreadful Summer of 1984 von Kenneth Rowntree wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Modern/British & Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.550,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kenneth Rowntree auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grove House, Levisham Evening im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.599,97).
