Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Motor Car, Aeroplane, Building by Ken Whisson was sold in the CONTEMPORARY ART auction at Christies in Melbourne in April 2001. The price achieved of AUD 2,350.00 (€ 1,349.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ken Whisson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Earth, Houses And Vehicle in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 48,000.00 (€ 28,915.03).
