Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, which included the work Winter Hunt by Kenneth Riley. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 18,786.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kenneth Riley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Canyon Scout in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 91,225.21).
