Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2011 Christies in London held the auction Vintage Posters, which included the work South America By Royal Mail by Kenneth Denton Shoesmith. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,715.82), 19% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kenneth Denton Shoesmith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rio De Janeiro, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,974.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Vintage Posters durch, in der auch die Arbeit South America By Royal Mail von Kenneth Denton Shoesmith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.715,82) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Denton Shoesmith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rio De Janeiro beobachtet, die im November 2010 für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.974,99) versteigert wurde.
