It achieved a price of GBP 1,657.50 (€ 1,890.60), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kenneth Denton Shoesmith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rio De Janeiro, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,974.99).

Die Arbeit Penang. British Malaya. Empire Marketing Board von Kenneth Denton Shoesmith wurde im Februar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Vintage Posters Online bei Bonhams versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.657,50 (€ 1.890,60) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Für andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Denton Shoesmith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rio De Janeiro beobachtet, die im November 2010 für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.974,99) versteigert wurde.
