Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Keiichi Tanaami achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session auction, the work Tearful Kannon sold for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 42,283.09) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Keiichi Tanaami; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Feast With Skeleton sold at auction in May 2019 with the realized price of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 78,684.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Keiichi Tanaami erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Tearful Kannon für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 42.283,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Keiichi Tanaami; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A Feast With Skeleton im Mai 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 78.684,19).
