Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Shigure no Kokedera (Drizzle at Kokedera Temple), 1960 Okutama no ie (House at Okutama), first published 1955 Hakone Yumoto no shunsho (Spring dusk at Yumoto, Hakone), 1953 Kamakura Tsurugaoka Hachiman (Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, Kamakura), 195 by Shiro Kasamatsu for USD 500.00 (€ 351.64). This price was achieved in the auction Japanese and Korean Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,0 Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shiro Kasamatsu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Snow At The Stone Garden (Yuki No Ishiniwa) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,577.66).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shiro Kasamatsu erzielen.
